President

A graduate from the international economic department of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, in 1971-1975 Nicolay Grishko served as a diplomat at the Soviet Embassy in Laos. Having got a PHD degree, from 1975 up to mid-80's he was a professor at the Moscow Plekhanov State Institute of People's Economy.

In 1988, after detailed assessment of the advantages that Russian ballet shoes had in comparison with their foreign analogues, Mr. Grishko founded the Tanets (Dance) Production Co-operative Society. He also realized that ballet shoe manufacturing might provide great prospects for his own business. Rich ballet traditions existing in Russia combined with modern technologies and a scientific approach became the driving force for developing the enterprise.

In the 1990's, being an experienced economist and wise businessman, Nikolai Grishko successfully expanded the range of products made by his company. In 1995 his co-operative society transformed to Grishko Ltd.

By the end of the 90's the Grishko production group included 4 factories. Its President's competent policy permitted the company not only to survive the 90's, which from a social and economic point of view were unfavourable for the country, but also to grow and establish new markets.

Nowadays, Nikolai Grishko heads the leading company among manufacturers of clothes and footwear for all kinds of dance in Russia. In this field in world markets, Grishko is known as one of three main players.

The company's President is closely involved in various charitable activities. For the last 14 years Grishko Ltd. has been giving monthly grants to pupils and students of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography.

Mr. Grishko constantly renders his assistance to different ballet and dance companies, schools, creative institutions, young talented people, etc.

He has been awarded numerous prizes, awards, medals and diplomas in the sphere of art and economics. The Golden Mask National Prize “For the Support of the Theatrical Art of Russia”, the National Prize for the Achievements and Merits in the Textile and Light Industry of Russia, the National Prize “Leader of the Russian Economics 2008” are among them.
